Cathy R. Hanshaw, 53, of Topeka, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at her home. She was born October 15, 1952 in Topeka, the daughter of Carl and Theresa Sanderson Goodrich. She graduated from Seaman High School in 1970. Cathy was a long time secretary at Seaman High School and enjoyed being part of the students lives. She was a member of Mother Teresa Catholic Church and the North Topeka Saddle Club. She married Dennis Hanshaw November 7, 1970 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include her parents, Carl and Theresa Goodrich, in Arizona; a son, Derek Hanshaw, Scranton; a daughter, Ashley Hanshaw, Topeka,. and two sisters, Diane Pauls, Omaha, and Sherry Allerheiligen, Loveland Colorado. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Topeka. Burial will follow in the Half Day Cemetery at Elmont. Cathy will lie in state after 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt where a rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m., followed by visitation. She will also lie in state at the church an hour before service time. The family would like to express their gratitude to the North Topeka community for all their support. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Cathys name to the Mother Teresa Building fund, in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 280, Hoyt, Kansas 66440.
