He then married Ruth L. Stronach, Mar 3 1951, St. Stephans Episcopal Church, Coconut Grove, Dade County, Florida.10,11

HENSHAW, JR., ROBERT E., Major USAF Retired. "Bob". Bob volunteered US Army Air Corps WWII to become a pilot on B-24 bombers, and then was moved to the 435th troop carrier wing. Bob graduated from the University of Miami with BA of Arts, 1 year of Law and major in Economics. Robert was recalled in the Korean War and sent to Germany. Wife Ruth was able to join him. Bob finished his 20 years in the reserves as Major Robert Henshaw Jr. Bob second life's work was in the insurance business. He first started Kendall Insurance in South Dade County on South Dixie Hwy, after which he started personal service insurance in South Miami before merging with Packer & Co. To become Frank B Hall then merged with AON to finish his career in the insurance industry. Bob met a nurse in Miami Beach in 1950 and was married to Ruth on March 3, 1951 at St. Stephans Episcopal Church in Coconut Grove. As residents of Miami, Bob and Ruth became members of St. Thomas Episcopal Church that met in a tent. Under Father Rantz Bob became Junior and Senior Warden and helped raise the money to build Rantz Hall. Son Jon Robert was born in 1959. Bob and Jon became members of The Sons of The American Revolution. Bob was President of the Alman Flying Club for 10 years and a member for 20 years and enjoyed flying all the time. Bob was also a member of the Coconut Grove Sailing Club and then the Miami Yacht Club and enjoyed many years of sail boat racing. Bob and Ruth spent many of their summer months in Nova Scotia, Canada on the Bay of Fundy with relatives and friends for the past 20 years. Never far away from the ocean waters which he loved. In April 2003, Bob and Ruth retired to East Ridge Retirement Village where they settled in and met new friends. Bob had been ill for over a year in the health center at East Ridge and passed away March 30, 2010 at age 87. There is a Memorial Service at 10:00AM, Sat.
