He married Elsie Josephine Lamb, Sep 2 1926, Hayward, Alameda County, California.1,5  Elsie, daughter of Joseph E. Lamb & Carrie Silva, was born about 1901, San Jose, Santa Clara County, California.5,6

Petaluma Courier: -- Miss Elsie J. Lamb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Lamb, of Hayward and Leroy F. Hinshaw, formerly of this city, were married at Hayward Thursday morning and in the afternoon the couple arrived here for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Hinshaw, parents of the groom.  

Mr. Hinshaw spent his boyhood here and was graduated from the Petaluma high school.  When a youth he was employed at the Courier and Argus offices and was always a favorite.  

After leaving school he left for Mare Island where he took up the machinist trade and later studied engineering.  He is now chief engineer on the Associated Oil company's tanker Kewanee.  

Mr. Hinshaw is a brother of Harold Hinshaw, who is with the Pacific Gas and Electric Company at San Rafael and Walter Hinshaw of this city.  

He is a young man of sterling worth and his schoolmates and friends in this city will wish him every happiness.  

The news of the wedding was a surprise to his friends, although his parents have been expecting to learn the happy news.

When they returned from their honeymoon the following article was published in the "Hayward Review" (Hayward, California) on Friday, October 1, 1926:2

HONEYMOONERS ARE BACK

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hinshaw have returned from a three weeks honeymoon spent at Vancouver, B. C.  Mrs. Hinshaw was formerly Elsie Lamb, local telephone operator.  The Hinshaws are making their home with the bride's parents.  Mr. Hinshaw is chief engineer on one of the Standard Oil Company's tankers.

The following article was published in the "Hayward Review" (Hayward, California) on Friday, September 30, 1927:7

The district meeting of the Pacific Telephone company will be held in Richmond this evening.  As this is a school of instruction, lectures will be given on laws and regulations.  The following will attend from the Hayward telephone office: Grace Algeo, Dora Jorgensen, Emma and Dorothy Exline, Mrs. Elsie Hinshaw, Katie Addison, Louise Beck, Mrs. and Rose Leonard.

Elsie was shown in the 1930 census (Apr 1930), living with her parents at 745 Jackson, Hayward, Alameda County, California:6

Lamb, Joseph A., head-of-household, age 67, born in California; parents born in Portugal; owned home; no radio in home; occupation: farmer; not a veteran.
Lamb, Carrie, wife, age 51, born in California; parents born in Portugal; first married at age 18.
Hinshaw, Elsie, daughter, age 29, born in California; parents born in California; married, first married at age 25.
