He married Martha Jane "Mattie" McClaskey, Dec 21 1865, Barbour County, West Virginia.1,2  Martha, daughter of William McClaskey & Catherine Proudfoot, was born Aug 30 1844, Philippi, Virginia.2,3,4  

By the early 1870s, Charles and Mattie resided in Grafton, Taylor County, West Virginia.1
