Lansdale Hanshaw

On Jun 5 1917 Lansdale Hanshaw, age 21, registered for the World War I draft in Manhattan, New York, New York. He declared he was born January 5 1896 in Grafton, West Virginia, and was then residing at 539 W. 155th [street], New York, New York, where he was single and was a "moving picture director" employed by Famous Players, 465 5th Avenue. He was recorded as tall, medium build, grey eyes, black hair.³

According to biographer Woodruff, Dale "became an assistant director on at least 3 silent films - 'Flower of Faith' and 'Spell of the Yukon', both filmed in 1916, possibly in Fort Lee, NJ, and 'The Grain of Dust', filmed in 1918, possibly in Ogden, UT.¹
