Frank was a World War II veteran, serving as a sergeant in the U.S. Army.^6,7 On Dec 4 1942 Frank W. Hanshaw enlisted as a private in the U.S. Army in New York City. He declared he had one year of college, was single, without dependents, and occupied as a "bandsman". He was recorded as 69" tall, 133 lbs.⁸ Inducted Dec 11 1942; discharged Mar 25 1946.⁶

He married Willa Jayne Fowler.¹ Willa, daughter of Arthur Fowler & Blanche Ellison, was born May 26 1920, Ohio.^1,3,9

Frank was a talent agent, playing a role in the early careers of such artists as Nat 'King' Cole, the Four Lads, Stan Kenton, Bobby Darin and many others.²
