Pursley & Alpha May Cherpitel.1 His mother, Alpha May, died in 1904, probably at or after Foster's birth.1 Evidently Foster was then given up for adoption, and Frank Foster & Minnie Mabel (Smith) Foster then adopted him as Asher Orceneth Foster.2 When Minnie Mable (Smith) Foster remarried to Edwin M. Hinshaw he became Foster Asher Hinshaw.1
Foster's birth mother, Alpha May Cherpitel, was the daughter of Disery Cherpitel of Rice Co, Kansas. Disery Cherpitel named Foster Hinshaw as an heir in his will of 1915. Foster's legal guardian in 1915 was Minnie Smith Hinshaw.1
He married Stella Iva Baker1 [Estella Iva Baker4], 19261, Kansas1. Stella, daughter of Vineyard Paris Baker & Laura Elnora Braden, was born Nov 4 1904, Cullison, Pratt County, Kansas.1,4

Foster Asher Hinshaw died Oct 28 1953, at sea, near the Bahama Islands; buried Nov 1953, Sunset Cemetery, near Cullison, Pratt County, Kansas.1 Foster was killed in a helicopter accident while in the military.1
Foster's obituary was published in the "Pratt Daily Tribune" on October 31, 1953. A memorial service announcement was also published November 13, 1953.1
Stella died Sep 18 1994, Berkeley Heights, Union County, New Jersey; buried Sep 1994, Sunset Cemetery, near Cullison, Pratt County, Kansas.1
