LIBERTY
Mr. James Delmer (J.D.) Hinshaw, 76, of 10463 Highway 49 South passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 1996, at the Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.  The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 1996, at Pleasant Hill Christian Church, with Rev. Howard Spray officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Mr. Hinshaw was a native of Alamance County, a member of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church, the Adult Sunday School of his church and served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II.  He was an Honorary member of the Liberty Ruritan Club.  Mr. Hinshaw was part owner of the Hinshaw Garage, had previously worked with Stout Chair Company and was retired from Gregson Manufacturing Company.  He was also a retired farmer.  Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Mrs. Viola Smith Hinshaw of the home; sons, Jimmy and his wife, Donna of Nashville, Tenn., Johnny and his wife, Katie of Liberty; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Calvin and Bill Hinshaw of Liberty.  The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. tonight at the Loflin Funeral Home in Liberty and other times at the residence.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill Christian Church, 1712 Pleasant Hill-Liberty Road, Liberty, NC 27298.

LIBERTY -- Mrs. Viola Ruth Smith Hinshaw, 87, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2008.  

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, at Pleasant Hill Christian Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
