On Sep 12 1918, Roscoe Eugene Hinshaw, age 20, registered for the World War draft in Baltimore, Maryland.  He declared he was born Nov 13 1898 and he then resided at 1519 W. Lombard, Baltimore, where he was employed as an inspector with Bartlet Hayward at Preston & Greenmont Ave.  He declared his nearest relative was his mother Mrs. Blanche Hinshaw of 1909 W. Taylor, Richmond, Virginia.  He was recorded as short, medium build, brown eyes, brown hair.2

No trace of Roscoe has been found after his World War I draft registration above.  It is entirely possible that he might have been drafted and killed in the war,4 since no complete list of all World War I casualties exists anywhere (nor will it ever exist - there were far too many unknown soldiers).
