Melvin was shown in the 1970-1976 city directories, Salt Lake City, Utah, residing at 2522 Skyline Circle.12 He was also shown in the 1970-1972 directories with a gas station at 1635 Foothill Dr., and a motel at 1637 Foothill Dr. (apparently the owner)12 The 1972 Salt Lake City directory showed the following family members at 2522 Skyline Dr.:12

Barbara Lydia Spear Henshaw, 91, passed away on April 30, 2013 in Salt Lake City. Barbara was born July 23, 1921 to Roy Spear and Pearl Wheeler Spear. She was the 4th of 9 children. She is preceded in death by her siblings Roy, Aaron, Constance (Bentley), Melva (Sorensen), and Earl. Survived by Iris (Smith), Faye (Lloyd Munson) and Carl (Nadine).
Mom married Melvin Henshaw on October 8, 1943. They are survived by nine children Ann, Dee, Glen (Roseanne), Gary (Jean), Larry (Sue Ellen), Jean (Rob Alvey), Jay, Ross and David. Barbara was active in the LDS church, a loving a dedicated sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Mom and Dad owned and operated several businesses together including Little Mountain Ski Area, Mel's Service / Foothill Car Wash, Skyline Motel and the St. George Campground.
Her viewing will be Friday May 3rd from 6-8 pm and grave side service will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm at Wasatch Lawn 3401 S Highland Drive in SLC.
