LIBERTY - Clarence M. Hinshaw, 88, of 6339 Richland Church Road, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at Carol Lee Elderly Care Home.
Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Jobnson [sic] and the Rev. Bill Bigham officiating.
He was a native of Randolph County, a member of First United Methodist Church and worked with the Randolph County Sheriff's Department and the Randleman Police Department before joining the Liberty Police Department in 1947 as Chief of Police. He retired in 1978.
Surviving are wife, Odelia Palmer Hinshaw of the home; daughter, Linda H. Fogleman of Liberty; sister, Hazel Ross of Greensboro; brothers, Rez Hinshaw of Charlotte, Howard Hinshaw of Liberty.
The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty 7-9 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Pew Cushion Fund, P.O. Box 220, Liberty, N.C. 27298 or Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, N.C. 27204-0009.
