LIBERTY -- Charles Howard Hinshaw, 82, of 8054 Old 421 Road, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, at First United Methodist Church of Liberty, with the Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. The immediate family will receive friends and family after the service.
Mr. Hinshaw was born April 2, 1923, in Randolph County to the late Jesse L. and Sarah Garner Hinshaw. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Liberty, Masonic Lodge #714 and Eastern Star Chapter #66 OES. Mr. Hinshaw was a veteran of WWII, serving as a B24 pilot in the Army Air Force. He served on the Randolph County School Board for twelve years. Mr. Hinshaw was retired from a career of self-employment, including ownership of H & M Tire Service.
Mr. Hinshaw is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Evelyn Millikan Hinshaw; his son, Leslie Hinshaw and wife, Brenda, of Liberty; daughter, Kay Philipp and husband, Tom, of Boone; daughter, Wanda Hinshaw and husband, Lyle Schoenfeldt of Valle Crucis; brother, Rez Hinshaw of Matthews; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In liew of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church of Liberty, P.O. Box 220, Liberty, N.C. 27298 or the charity of your choice.
