HENSHAW, VIRGINIA JOHNSON - age 82 of Knoxville entered into eternal peace on Saturday, May 4, 2013. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed many cherished friendships. She was retired from The R.O. Deadrick Company. Her family was her greatest joy, and she spent many summers surrounded by them at Pawleys Island. It was her home that was the Christmas Eve gathering place. She appreciated the comfort of a clean house and loved reading, beautiful clothing, animals and gardening. She leaves her family a great legacy of love. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents Austin and Agnes Johnson; husband James Edward Henshaw; brothers Austin Johnson, Jr., and wife Betty and Charles Edward Johnson of South Williamson, Kentucky. She is survived by children Sherry Henshaw Corden and Kevin Matthew Henshaw and wife Charlene; grandchildren Spencer Henshaw Corden, Laura Corden Bohner and husband Doug, and Sierra Rose Henshaw; great-grandchildren, Quinn Allan Bohner, her namesake Mary Virginia Bohner and Spencer Douglas Bohner; sister-in-law, Dr. Mary Ray Johnson; husband Tom Chesney; her adopted family Sue, Thomas and Lara Beth Hamilton, and nieces and nephews in Tennessee and Kentucky. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 7:00 p.m., Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, with Dr. J. David Hester and the Reverend Kevin Wood, officiating; interment will be Wednesday, May 8, 1:00 p.m., Highland Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UT Hospice Services.
