Charles Embrey Jones, 82

Charles Embrey Jones, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 14, 2015 at the Warsaw Health and Rehabilitation Center.  He was 82.  

Charlie was born in Napton, Missouri to Mary Embrey and Johnny S. Jones.  After graduating from Marshall High School, Class of 1951, he enlisted in the army and served in Germany as a general’s aid.  Following the army, Charlie studied business at the University of Missouri in Columbia and graduated Magna Cum Laude.  

Charlie ran a small engine repair business in Warsaw for over 50 years.  He was a hardworking man who enjoyed the company of everyone who came into his shop.  For many years he was a member and Past Master of the Shawnee Masonic Lodge #653 AF & AM of Warsaw, the Kansas City Valley of the Scottish Rite, Benton County Scottish Rite, Ararat Shrine Temple of Kansas City and the Warsaw Shrine Clubs.  As a member of the Golden Valley Shrine Club, he enjoyed driving his mini-rod in parades around the state, supporting the work of the Shriners Hospital.  Charlie was also instrumental in the construction of the Warsaw Municipal Airport and served on the Airport Board.  

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Charles Embrey Jones II.  

Charlie was the devoted husband of Treva Henshaw Jones and loving father to Sabin James and her husband, Kurt, Christopher Jones and his wife, Elena, Phillip Kreisler and Michelle McLerran, and included Marlie and Randy Nystul.  He adored spending time and spoiling his grandchildren, Hannah James, Olivia James, Matthew Kreisler and his newest grandson Daniel Alexander Jones born January 5, 2015 and he loving included Emma King, Lauren and Rachael Morgan, of which he is watching over them all.  Charlie leaves one sister, Susie and her husband, Warren Hughes of Clearwater, FL, two brothers, Turner Jones of Columbia, MO, and Steve Jones and his wife, Audrey, of Napton, MO, sister-in-law Joy Craighead and her husband, Ronny, of Mission, KS, sister-in-law Linda Phillips of Clinton, MO and his much loved nieces, nephews and many friends.  

Memorial services for Charlie Jones will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 25, 2015 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, MO.  Visitation will be held prior to the memorial service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Graveside services with military honors will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Warsaw.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Teacher Care Fund, which gives financial assistance to Warsaw students who need help with school supplies, after school activities and graduation expenses, c/o Reser Funeral Home, P.O. Box 910, Warsaw, Missouri 65355.
