BESSIE GROW Former Teacher at Stone Station Dead at 94
Mrs. Bessie Mae GROW, 94, 502 W. Adams St., died Sunday [25 March 1973] morning at Golden Rule Nursing Home in Gaston after a long illness.
She was born near Winchester and moved to Muncie in 1947. She was a teacher who began her career in 1895 at No. 4 school near Stone Station north of Winchester. She was a member of Fountain Square United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, and she belonged to Fourth Division of Friends Memorial Church. Her husband, Wilbur, died in 1941.
She is survived by three sons, Gerald, Yorktown, Ralph, Muncie and Lawrence, Anderson; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Parson Mortuary with Rev. Herman Surber and Rev. Harold Fredericks officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester. Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday or prior to services Tuesday.
