Robert Hinshaw Robert L. Hinshaw of Puyallup, WA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 11, 2008, following a heart attack. Bob was born on March 6, 1926 in Riverside, CA, to Franklin M and Maebelle B (Mayers) Hinshaw. He graduated from Riverside CA Polytechnic High School. He served as a gunnar's mate in the Navy during World War II, surviving a typhoon induced shipwreck off of Okinawa. He finished his Navy service as a courier to Alger Hiss at the Dumbarton Oaks Conference d [sic] in San Francisco which organized the UN. He met his wife of 62 years, Wilma J. Walsworth, while visiting family in Puyallup after his discharge. They moved to San Francisco to attend Glad Tidings Bible College, later transferring to NW Bible College in Kirkland, WA. Bob worked for Boeing 38 years, starting as a machinist making parts for the first 707. He rose to the position of Research Engineer. He designed several tools to aid in aircraft construction, two of which Boeing patented. Bob attended Community Christian Assembly in Midland, WA. His special interest was the mission fields of Papua New Guinea and the Philippine provinces of Surigao and Dinagat. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy. He is survived by his wife, Wilma; his son, David (Angelia); daughter, Gail (Daryl) Ostheller; granddaughter, Staci (Stuart) Hoisington and two great-grandsons, Thomas and Reece. Survivors also include his brother, Phillip L, (Joy) Hinshaw; several sisters-in-law plus numerous nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held at Living Hope Church, 11618 122nd St E in Puyallup on Sat., May 17th, at 2PM. The public is invited. A potluck reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Christian Assembly, Philippines & Papua New Guinea Funds.
