He declared he was born May 17 1896 in Union City, Tennessee, and was then residing in Hawes, [Garland County,] Arkansas where he was single, with a dependent mother, occupied as a machinist employed by the Missouri State Penitentiary in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was recorded as tall, medium build, dark brown eyes, black hair.5
He married Eula P. Eckert2 [Eula Barton1], about 19202. Eula was born Jan 25 18972,7 [about 19006], Louisiana2,7.
Eula had apparently been previously married to a -- Eckert, as she had a son, Omer L. Eckert, born 1917.2,6
