Bush is Sentenced on Tire
Theft Charge
Elmus Bush, found guilty in intermediate court on a charge of stealing four baloon tires and wheels for his car, was sentenced to two years in prison late Tuesday by Judge Henry K. Black.
The defense endeavored to show that Bush bought the tires and wheels from Haymon Hanshaw, while the state contended that Bush paid Hanshaw $20 to steal them.
Bush said his alleged transaction with Hanshaw took place one evening. His sister, Mrs. Ella Barnes, who had not heard his testimony, asserted that the transaction was at the same hour but in the morning.
