On Mar 31 1943 Elmer C. Henshaw, born 1924, enlisted in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania as a private in the U.S. Army.  He declared he had one year of high school, and was single, without dependents.5  

He married Marie Snodgrass.1  Marie, daughter of Harry Snodgrass & Blanche Taylor.1  

He then married Arlene M. Kohler6 [Arlene M. Keener6].  Arlene, daughter of Ervin C. Kohler & Margie V. Snyder, was born Jul 13 1930, High Rock, Pennsylvania.4,6  

Arlene had apparently been previously married to Everett V. Keener.6  

Elmer Charles Henshaw died Dec 23 2001.4,6  

Arlene died Mar 18 2004, at her home, Red Lion, York County, Pennsylvania; age 73.6  (Mar 17 2004).4  

Arlene's obituary was published in the "York Daily Record" (York, Pennsylvania) on March 20, 2004:6

Arlene M. Keener Henshaw RED LION Arlene M. (Kohler) Keener Henshaw, 73, entered into rest on Thursday evening, March 18, 2004 at her residence.  She was the wife of the late Everett V. Keener, who died on September 18, 1994 and the late Elmer C. Henshaw, who died December 23, 2001.  She was part owner of Keener Kitchen Manufacturing Co., a member of Bethany U.M. Church in Red Lion since 1983, member of Dr. J.M. Hyson Memorial Court 106 Order of the Amaranth, Rainbow Chapter 517 Order of the Eastern Star, and the Farm Women's Society 29.  Born in High Rock on July 13, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Ervin C. and Margie V. (Snyder) Kohler.  She is survived by one son, Stephen T. Keener and wife Deborah of York; one daughter, Diane L. Kreider and husband David of Millersville, Pa.; five grandchildren; one sister, C. Romaine Heffner of Brogue; one brother, Preston Kohler of Brogue; several nieces and nephews.  Viewings will be 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 22, with an Amaranth Memorial Service to be performed at 8:30 p.m. by the Dr. J. M. Hyson Memorial Court, and 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 23 at Bethany U.M. Church, 121 W. Broadway, Red Lion.  The service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church with her pastor, the Rev. James E. VanZandt, officiating.  Burial will be in McKendree U.M. Cemetery.  The Burg Funeral Home, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany U.M. Church, 121 W. Broadway, Red Lion, PA 17356.
