On Jun 5 1917 Michail [sic] Thomas Henshaw, age 27, registered for the World War I draft in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania. He declared he was born Feb 10th 1890 in Southdale [unclear], Pennsylvania, and was then residing at 309 Spruce Ave. in Altoona, where he had a wife and one child, and was a crane operator employed by the "Penn. R.R. Co. Car Shops" of Altoona. He claimed an exemption due to "dependents" and "artificial leg". He was recorded as medium height, medium build, brown eyes, dark hair, and "lost left leg below knee".6

Caroline Ave., Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania, employed as an electrician by the "P.R.R.". He declared his relative/contact was Mildred J. Henshaw of the same address.7
