The following biography appeared in the book "History of the Carter Family", pages 57-61, a contemporary (1924-1928) family history:4
"Letitia, daughter of Elza and Mary E. Hinshaw, was born near old Shiloh Nov. 5, 1878. She grew to womanhood in the community going to the local schools during the winters. She was married to Samuel Bond, June 12, 1899, a young farmer boy of the neighborhood. They became the parents of three children: Wilbur Maxwell, Sidney and Francis Raymond. They moved to Michigan shortly after they were married and are still residents of that state."
In 1942 Letitia was living in Newberry, Michigan.5
