She married Frank Eric William Giles, Apr 4 1916, Wandsworth, London.^2,8,9,10 Frank, son of William Sharman/Shurman Giles + Edith Eliza Bagnall, was born Jan 13 1891, at sea, Larnaca, Merchant Marine (San Francisco).^{6,10,11,12,13,14} Christened Jun 14 1891, St. Marys-on-the-Hill, Chester, Cheshire.^15,16

Frank died Sep 16 1916, buried Pier and Face 9 D 9 C 13 C and 12 C, Thiepval Memorial, Thiepval, Departement de la Somme, Picardie, France.^6,17,18 Frank was killed in action during World War I.^2,19 He had enlisted in the London Regiment May 14 1915.¹⁰

After Frank died Mary had a lonely life, but she travelled to visit family in the States (via very grand Ocean Liners) and visits all over the world.⁶

Mary's family was wealthy, and in the early 1920s Mary bought and sold shares of stock at about £1000 a time.⁶ Mary wrote a prolific diary from 1910 to 1929, now (2016) in the possession of Sue Wright.⁶
