Donald L. "Don" Hancher, 62, of Claysville, died unexpectedly, Friday, July 10, in Erie, PA.
He was born August 18, 1946, in Donegal Township, a son of the late Paul and Charlotte Adams Hancher.
He was a member of Dutch Fork Christian Church.
Mr. Hancher was a 1966 graduate of McGuffey High School and was a self-employed contractor.
He was a member of the Washington Pigeon Club, and he enjoyed racing homing pigeons, gardening, hunting, and fishing.
On April 7, 1984, in Banetown, he married Harriett E. Haught, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Donald L. (Beth) Hancher, Jr., of Wellsburg, WV, Todd (Kelly) Hancher, of Wheeling, Michael (Amy) Hancher, and Adam (Kristen) Hancher, both of Claysville, a daughter, Chris (Tom) Millhorn, of Dillonvale, OH, two brothers, Paul (Jane) Hancher, Jr., of Claysville, and Michael Hancher, of West Alexander, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a third great grandchild expected in September.
Friends will be received Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, in Michael H. Heinrich Funeral Home, 219 Main St, Claysville, where services will be held Wednesday, July 15, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Duane Wolfe officiating. Interment in West Finley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in his memory to the family, in care of Heinrich Funeral Home, PO Box 539, Claysville, PA 15323.
