About 50 years ago, he was united in marriage to Tina Henshaw, in Calloway county, Mo., and they moved immediately thereafter to this County, and to this union 13 children were born, the following being those who survive: (John) Willis Griffin of Columbia, Mo., Mrs. Beatrice Monroe, of Dewey, Okla., Mrs. Mattie York, of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. John Welch, of Waynesville.

His first wife passed away about 26 years ago, and he was later united in marriage to Bertha Adkins, 5 children surviving by the last marriage, besides his widow, as follows: Mrs. Ray Phillips, Henry, Willie, Earl and Georgia Griffin.

Until about 16 years ago, he spent the greater part of his life in the south part of the County, near what is known as Old Tribune, where he was well known.  Besides his large family, his kind heart found room to rear several other homeless children.

Funeral and burial services were conducted at Gravette, Ark.
