William Eugene "Gene" Hinshaw of Hardy died Friday January 01, 2010 at White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was 84 years old. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Higginbotham Funeral Service in Hardy. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 5, 2010 at 11:00 from the Higginbotham Funeral Chapel in Hardy Rev. Brad Harness officiating. Interment will follow at the Baker Cemetery in Hardy. Funeral arrangements by Higginbotham Funeral Service, 401 W. Main St., Walnut Ridge, AR.

Lena Murrell Powell Hinshaw of Hardy Arkansas died October 18, 2010 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo MS, she was 78 years old. Lena was an honest, hardworking woman. She didn't have a lot of formal education but was a very "shrewd" business woman. Her passions were fishing and working in the flower beds. Also, getting dressed up and going out to eat. She spent her last days, surrounded by family and friends, and even when she knew her time was near - she still put others needs before hers. She was a beautiful precious lady and words cannot express the depth that she will be missed.
She is survived by two sons William Neil Powell of Clayton CA and James Calvin Powell of Ecru MS; Two sisters, Beulah Baldridge of Ravenden AR and Joy Wooten of Ash Flat; Four grandchildren, Michelle George, Mellissa Redden, Nelson William Powell and Samantha Angelina Powell; Two great grandchildren, Taylor Powell and Austin George; Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends, mourn her passing.
She was preceeded in death by two husbands, Nelson William "Dub" Powell and Gene Hinshaw; One son, Timmothy Don Powell; One sister, Juanita Stevens; Two brothers, Leon James and Junior James;.
Services were held at the Higginbotham Funeral Chapel in Hardy, with Bro. Tom Harris officiating. Internment was at Bradford Cemetery in Ravenden Springs.
