Martha Hinshaw died Aug 28 1912, Watts Hospital, Durham, Durham County, North Carolina; buried Aug 28 1912, Maplewood Cemetery, 1621 Duke University Road, Durham, North Carolina.⁵

Note: Martha's death certificate shows she was born in 1847 in Orange County, North Carolina (parents unknown), yet it also shows she was age 85 when she died in 1912⁵ (making her birth about 1827). The death certificate is mathematically contradictory.
