Opal Fewell, 1910-2010

Opal Hinshaw Fewell, 100, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2010, at Lenoir Health Care in Columbia.  

There will be no visitation, and private family services will be held.  

Opal was born Jan. 12, 1910, in Columbia to Linton and Kate Wilson Hinshaw, and they preceded her in death.  

She was married to Wesley T. Fewell on Jan. 3, 1944, and he also preceded her in death.  

Opal graduated from Hickman High School and Christian College and attended the University of Missouri, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority.  She was also a member of Missouri United Methodist Church.  

She was an avid antique collector who enjoyed all kinds of crafts, and she will be remembered as a lady who was very dedicated to her family.  

Survivors include two sons, Wesley H. Fewell and wife, Marcia, and Kent Fewell and wife, Jan; five grandchildren, John, Todd, Ashley, Wes and Megan Fewell; and two great-grandchildren, Carson and Cara Fewell, all of Columbia.
