Ruth Eleanor Hinshaw Rosenow (1931-2012)

Ruth Eleanor Hinshaw Rosenow, 80, passed away April 5, 2012, in Eagle, Idaho.

Ruth was born in Newberg, Ore., on Dec. 17, 1931.

The early years of her life were spent in Newberg, where she graduated from high school and was active in Spanish Club, GAA, and the Tigerettes.

Ruth was an avid writer in both poetry and stories.

She met her husband Glen in Newberg, where they spent the next 18 years.  They raised three successful children Larry Rosenow of Bend, Ore., Joyce Robb of Vancouver, Wash., and Kathleen Hills of Eagle, Idaho.

Glen and Ruth moved to the Medford area for many years to pursue postal service contracts throughout the area.  Upon retirement, they moved to Klamath Falls, Ore.  Then in 2011, due to health reasons, they moved to Eagle, Idaho, to live with their daughter Kathleen and her family.

Ruth had a sweet innocence that will be sorely missed.  Even though she traveled extensively, her one regret was that she never visited Florida.

Survivors include her brother Vernon Hinshaw of Yamhill, Ore., and her sisters Doris Lyon of Tucson, Ariz., and Jan Abbott of Salem, Ore.  Also surviving are her three children, her grandchildren Tamara Hills of Meridian, Idaho, and Chris Bailey and his wife Erin of Oregon City, Ore., one great-granddaughter Lillian Mabel Bailey, and her lifelong friend Louise Miller of Klamath Falls, Ore.

Beyond the Hill
by Ruth Hinshaw
The pools of blue away up high
Appear like velvet in the sky.
Amid the stars, above the breeze,
Floats there the moon, as gold as these.
Such fluffy billows drift there, too,
Set within the days of blue.
Behold the beauty, feel the thrill,
Watch this scene, beyond the hill.
