REDMOND -- The funeral for Elizabeth H. Horney 74. of 707 SW Black Butte, Redmond, will be at 10 am. Thursday at Redmond Memorial Chapel. The Rev Marlin Love will officiate, and burial will be in Redmond Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Horney, a resident of Central Oregon for 35 years, died Tuesday at Central Oregon District Hospital, Redmond. She was born on Nov. 23. l894, in Lee Summit, Mo. She first came to Central Oregon in 1943 and cooked in many restaurants in the area including: Old Skyliners Ski Lodge at Tumalo Falls, Odell Lake and Pauline Lake lodges, Pine Tavern, Pilot Butte Inn and Smoke Shop, and Mary's Cafe in Redmond. She also had managed the Elks Lodge at Camp Abbott. Mrs. Horney had been an active member of the Redmond Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl R Horney in 1969.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Roberts of Bend, two sons: Ted Hinshaw of Redmond and Donald Hinshaw at Fair Oaks Calif., a sister Matt Lutman of California; eight grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
