On Sep 12 1918 Charles Enan Hinshaw, age 43, registered for the World War I draft in Bloomington, McLean County, Illinois.  He declared he was born July 2 1875, and was then residing at 604 So. Clayton, Bloomington, Illinois where he was employed in the manufacturing department of Campbell, Holton & Co.  He declared his nearest relative was Mrs. Nellie Hinshaw of the same address.  He was recorded as medium height, medium build, brown eyes, black hair.1

Nellie died Jan 10 1947, Mackinaw Township, Tazewell County, Illinois; buried Stout's Grove Cemetery, McLean County, Illinois.4,5,6,11  Medical: Nellie died from a heart attack (at home in Charlie's presence).7  

In 1954 Charlie was living in/near Lilly, Illinois.12  

Charles Enan Hinshaw died Sep 13 1961, on the Hinshaw farm, near Danvers, McLean County, Illinois; buried Stout's Grove Cemetery, McLean County, Illinois.4,5,6,7  Medical: Charlie died from a heart condition.7  

Charlie's obituary appeared in the Bloomington Pantagraph on, as follows:7

Charles E. Hinshaw
Danvers -- (PNS) -- Charles E. Hinshaw, 86, a retired farmer, died about 6 p.m. Wednesday at the home of his brother, Ben, west of Danvers.  The brother found him dead in the barn.  McLean County Coroner Curtis Gilberts determined in an inquiry that death was due to a heart condition.  Mr. Hinshaw had made his home in recent years with his brother and wife.  
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Otto and Argo Funeral Home, with burial in Stout's Grove Cemetery.  
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  
Mr. Hinshaw was born on the farm where he died July 2, 1875, a son of C.N. and Anna E. Smith Hinshaw.  He married Nelle Spear of Bloomington Sept. 4, 1899.  They lived at one time at 604 S. Clayton in Bloomington and he was a teamster.  They later farmed at Coulterville and returned to Central Illinois in 1943 to live at Lilly.  His wife died in 1947.  
His only other survivor is a brother, Don, of Peoria.  Six brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
