Charles P. Hinshaw, 79, of Easton died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 in Easton Hospital. Born: December 8, 1933 in Winchester, Indiana he was a son of the late Lester and Naomi Ford Hinshaw. His wife, the former Betty E. Nishimura Hinshaw died in 2003. Personal: A graduate of Ball State University he specialized in developing blood banks both in the US and globally. He was an Army veteran and had donated anonymously to fund a Kutztown University student's education. He had been recognized for his work in the historical preservation and restoration of buildings in Easton and was also active with AIDS services. Survivors: 2 daughters: Lisa Jones of Phoenix, AZ; Sherrill Hinshaw of Warrington, PA; a brother: Marvin "Gene"; sisters: Shirley and Norma; and a granddaughter: Miya. Services: A reception will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 1 in the Hinshaw residence. The Ashton Funeral Home, Easton is handling the arrangements.
