He married Elizabeth Cox1,4,5,6 [Elisabeth Cox1], 12-20-18271,4,5,6, Holly Spring MM, North Carolina1,4,5,6.  Elizabeth, daughter of Charles Cox & Amy (Amey) Barker, was born 3-8-1803, Holly Spring MM, North Carolina.1,5  

Silas Hinshaw died 5-20-1828, Holly Spring MM, North Carolina.1  

After Silas' death, on 12-27-1832 Elizabeth remarried to Amos Comer, son of William & Nancy Comer (b 2-28-1807).  Note also that Amos Comer & Elizabeth named their first son Silas.1,5

Elizabeth Comer, age 47, born in North Carolina.
Abigail Hinshaw, age 21, born in North Carolina.
Silas Comer, age 16, born in North Carolina; attended school.
Nancy Comer, age 13, born in North Carolina; attended school.
Aaron Comer, age 8, born in North Carolina; attended school.

At Holly Spring MM on 3-20-1852, Amos Comer & wife Elizabeth & children Silas, Nancy, Aaron, & stepdaughter Elizabeth [sic - Abigail] Hinshaw, were granted certificates to West Union MM, Morgan County, Indiana.1  

At West Union MM (Indiana) on 6-14-1852, Amos Comer & wife Elizabeth and children Silas, Nancy, & Aaron, and step-daughter Abigail C. Hinshaw, were received on a certificate from Holly Spring MM, N.C.8  

At West Union MM on 1-10-1853, Amos Comer & wife Elizabeth and children Silas, Nancy, & Aaron, and step-daughter Abigail C. Hinshaw, were granted a certificate to Mississinewa MM.8
