In 1658 a book was published in London titled "The French Gardiner", a translation of a book originally written by Nicolas de Bonnefons, a member of the Sun King’s court.  The translation was written by John Evelyn, born 1620 in Surrey, England.  In the second edition of this book in 1669, the Dedication states "To My Most Honour'd and Worthy Friend, Thomas Henshaw, esquire".1
