It is unknown what became of this marriage, but it appears that the marriage did not last long. It appears that J.M. Henshaw was likely the same as Jesse Martin Hinshaw who (re)married in 1894.

Charity Freeman remarried to a John Gibson, Mar 12 1894, Hawkins County, Tennessee.¹ Charity lived well into the 1930s in Wise County, Virginia.^1,7,8
