In 1800-01 Joshua had a large frame house built in one of the more prominent sites in Middlebury, Vermont at 1 South Pleasant Street.c
Joshua removed to Montreal, Canada.9    Joshua had been a director of the Vermont State Bank.c    A published history of Middlebury, Vermont noted "In 1814 the bank was robbed of some $28,000 in what looked like an inside job.    The next morning Henshaw left town for Canada, never to return, and subsequently a duplicate key to the bank was found concealed in the attic of his house."c
Joshua Henshaw was shown in an 1813 list of Montreal persons able to serve as jurors.d
