Lavona Hinshaw Mansfield
BURLINGTON - Mrs. Lavona Hinshaw Mansfield, formerly of Burlington, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007 at Avante of Charlotte.
Mrs. Mansfield was born Aug. 22, 1913 in Alamance County. She was the wife of the late Sherwood "Shinny" Ross Mansfield and the daughter of Clarence W. Hinshaw and Verna Moore Hinshaw, both deceased. She was a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons, C. Franklin "Frank" Mansfield of Charlotte and Philmore Ross "Phil" Mansfield and wife, Shannon of Wilmington; seven grandchildren, Tommy Mansfield, Caroline Mansfield, Claire Mansfield, Carlton Mansfield, Kenneth Mansfield, Mary Grace Mansfield and Hope Mansfield; three great-grandchildren, Emmaline Mansfield, Lydia Mansfield and Alex White; one sister, Mrs. "Zue" Harris, of Jacksonville Beach, Florida and one brother, Theiron S. Hinshaw of Burlington.
The family will receive friends at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington, Sat., Dec. 8, 2007 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Rich and Thompson Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Suzanne Shoffner. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Shiloh Presbyterian Church, 2638 Grand Oaks Boulevard, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
