On Dec 16 1843 Walter U. Hinshaw, born 1917 in North Carolina, enlisted at Camp Croft, South Carolina as a private in the U.S. Army.  He declared he had four years of high school, and was married.6  

Walter Uriah Hinshaw died Dec 5 1968, Durham, Durham County, North Carolina; age 51.2,3,8

Burlington -- Funeral services for Walter Uriah Hinshaw, 51, will be conducted Saturday at 4 p.m. at Rich and Thompson Chapel by the Rev. Ralph Pritchard and Dr. Edgar Fisher.  Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.  

Mr. Hinshaw, owner of Neese-Shoffner Furniture Co., died Thursday afternoon in a Durham hospital.  He was a native of Alamance County.  He was a member of Swepsonville Methodist Church.

Gaynell died Nov 18 1985, Alamance County, North Carolina; age 68.7,9
