Born 3-18-1789, Guilford County, North Carolina.1  

He married Martha Jones, 5-31-1810, Jefferson County, Tennessee.1  Martha was born 3-14-1793, Guilford County, North Carolina.1

Martha died 1854, Economy, Wayne County, Indiana.1  

After Martha's death, Miles and the family moved from Tennessee to Indiana in the fall of 1814.  They moved in wagons, going along the Cumberland Gap route, crossing the Ohio River at Cincinnati.  Six miles from Richmond, Indiana, they rented a farm and in the spring of 1816 they moved to a rented farm ten miles north of Richmond and raised one crop, then moved into the Tennessee settlement in Wayne County where they had bought a farm.1  

Miles Marshill died 4-19-1868, Dexter, Dallas County, Iowa; buried Dexter Cemetery, Dexter, Iowa.1  

All of the children except Thomas moved to Dallas County, Iowa as early as 1854.  Thomas remained in Wayne County, Indiana.  Thomas' grandson, Thomas Worth Marshall was an editor of William Wade Hinshaw's "Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy".1
