He married Sarah Ann Mariah Pickett, Aug 30 1885, Albright Township, Chatham County, North Carolina.3,16  Sarah, daughter of William + Betsy Pickett, was born 1860.8,17,18  

Sarah died 1895, buried West Union Cemetery, Monrovia, Monroe Township, Morgan County, Indiana.8,18  

He then married Dora Shoffner, Sep 5 1897, Alamance County, North Carolina.1,3,11,16,19,20  Dora, daughter of Jacob Shoffner & Catherine Isley1,2,21, was born Mar 22 18681,2,21 [Mar 21 186819, Mar - 185811], North Carolina1,2,21.  

At West Union MM (Morgan County, Indiana) on 9-8-1898, William & wife Dora & children Tolen (sic), Joda, Alice, Maud, and Ira were received on a certificate.1

Dora died Aug 2 1902, Monrovia, Morgan County, Indiana; age 34y 4m 10d.1,2,19,23  

Dora died less than a month after the death of her baby twins Everett and Edgar;19 it is possible that Dora might have died from complications of birth.24  Dora's death was reported in the "Martinsville Republican" on August 7, 1902.19  

He then married Mary Ann Payne, Aug 11 1904, Patterson, Alamance County, North Carolina.12,15,16,25,26  Mary was born 1860, North Carolina.25,26,27  

At West Union MM on 11-7-1907, Mary Hinshaw had been received on a letter from Mt. Pleasant English Lutheran Church, Alamance County, North Carolina.1
