Lewellyn Magellan Hinshaw6 [L. M. Hinshaw6, Lew M. Hinshaw6,7].
Born Feb 23 1875, Harveyville, Wabaunsee County, Kansas.6,7,8,9,10,11
Lewellyn was commonly known as L.M. or Lew.6 He was a physician, probably practicing general medicine since this was before the days of medical specialization.6 He delivered more than 1500 babies, and performed more tonsillectomies than he could count.12
In the summer of 1904, Dr. L.M. Hinshaw moved to Bennington, Ottawa County, Kansas to serve an internship under a Dr. Roberts, who had an established practice. Before long his brother Everett also moved to Bennington, and the two shared office space.13
Lewellyn, along with his brother Everett, became an early member of "The Bennington Concert Band", which had been (re)organized in 1912.13
He married Lillie May Bosanko14,15 [Lillian Bosanko16], about 190614,15. Lillie, daughter of William Bosanko & Ann/Anna Olson, was born Jun - 1885, Ottowa County, Kansas.14,17,18,19,20
Lillie died 1909, Bennington, Ottawa County, Kansas; buried Block 5, Bennington Cemetery, Bennington, Ottawa County, Kansas.14,20

He declared he was born Feb 23 1875, and was then residing in Bennington, Ottawa County, Kansas where he was a self-employed physician. He declared his nearest relative was his wife, Pearl A. Hinshaw of Bennington. He was recorded as medium height, medium build, brown eyes, light brown hair.11
