He married Charlotte Cooper, Oct 20 1825, Frederick County, Virginia.11,12,13,15,16  Charlotte, daughter of Thomas Cooper, was born May 9 1805, Frederick County, Virginia.1,17,18  

Frederick County, Virginia marriage bond dated Oct 13 1825; Charlotte's father, Thomas Cooper, bondsman.18  

William settled in Kentucky.11,12,13  William received land in Kentucky deeded to him by his father Levi, who had received the land from Levi's father William.12  

William, along with brothers Washington, Charles and James, later settled in Clay County, Missouri19 [sic - Clark County, Missouri].  

On Oct 13 1835 "William D. Henshaw of Marion County, Missouri" purchased two tracts of land in Clark County, Missouri totaling 120.16 acres.20  On Oct 14 1835 "William D. Henshaw of Lewis County, Missouri" purchased an additional 81.32 acres of land in Clark County, Missouri.20  On Oct 21 1835 "William D. Henshaw of Lewis County, Missouri" purchased an additional 40 acres of land in Clark County, Missouri.20  On Aug 2 1838 "William D. Henshaw of Lewis County, Missouri" purchased an additional 80 acres of land in Clark County, Missouri.20  On Apr 1 1839 "William D. Henshaw of Lewis County, Missouri" purchased an additional 80 acres of land in Clark County, Missouri.20
