On Sep 12 1918 Clyde Colwell Hinshaw, age 33 1/2, registered for the World War I draft in San Francisco, California. He declared he was born January 1st 1885, and was then residing at 1910 Devisadero [sic], San Francisco. a self-employed sign-painter (1621 California St., San Francisco). He declared his nearest relative was his wife, Sadie Marie Hinshaw of the same address. He was recorded as medium height, medium build, brown eyes, brown "slightly bald" hair.9
