Carolyn Jean Turner of Winston-Salem passed away Oct. 11, 2012 at the Hospice Home in Raleigh, N.C. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Isabel Vaughn Turner, and a brother, Richard A. Turner. She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Hinshaw DeJager of Michigan, Sherry Hinshaw Rowland of Raleigh, and granddaughter, April Rowland of Raleigh. Surviving is a sister, Mickey Cornelius (Wade) of Winston-Salem, and brother, H. Michael Turner of York, Pa. She has several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. The family thanks Carolyn's friends and Home Care Aide for the love and comfort they offered during her illness. Carolyn was a lifelong animal lover and inspired her girls to do the same. They are involved in Animal Rescue, Kennel Management and volunteering at local Veterinary Hospitals. Memorials may be sent to Rescue UR Forever Friend (Ruff), P.O. Box 463, Garner, N.C. 27529 or www.NCRuff.org. Carolyn requested that her remains be donated to a University for Medical Research, and per Carolyn's wishes there will be no formal funeral or visitation.
