Edward Marion Hinshaw
August 31, 2008Mr. Edward Marion Hinshaw, 84, of 3345 Bellemont-Mt. Hermon Road, died at 7:47 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at his residence.
A native of Randolph County, he was the husband of 57 years to Mildred Clarice Coble Hinshaw and son of the late Simeon Ezra Hinshaw and Treva Dawson Hinshaw. He was a retired machinist for Kayser-Roth, a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, attended Bellemont United Methodist Church and was a member of the Men's Bible Class.
Surviving, other than his wife of the home are a daughter, Mrs. Kathy Hinshaw Dotson and husband Terry of Greensboro; four sons, Michael Lewis Hinshaw and wife Debra of Liberty, Joseph Lynn Hinshaw, Kenneth Coble Hinshaw and wife Joy and Carl Edward Hinshaw and wife Jamie all of Burlington; eight grandchildren, Angela Cox and husband Randy, Eddie Hinshaw, Colin Dotson, Carly Dotson, Brent Hinshaw, Scott Hinshaw, Katie Hinshaw and Daniel Hinshaw; one step-granddaughter, Nikki Simpson; three great-grandchildren, Michael Bienz, Jordan Cox and Brandon Cox; two sisters, Mrs. Donnavie Allen of Greensboro and Mrs. Rosalie Ashcraft and husband Charles of Springdale, Ariz. [sic]; and two brothers, Mr. Max Hinshaw and wife Pat of Climax and Mr. Clay Hinshaw of Graham. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Vogie Hinshaw and Mr. Jack Hinshaw.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home & Crematory in Graham with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Jackson.
The family will greet friends after the service.
