He declared he was born Feb 24 1891 in Gardener, Oregon, and was then residing in Black Rock, Oregon where he was married and employed as a logger by the Willamette Valley Lumber Co. of Black Rock. He was recorded as medium height, medium build, blue eyes, dark hair, and "1 finger off".15

Retired chiropractor Dulcia May Balderree died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, in Vancouver. She was 100. Mrs. Balderree was a member of numerous health-related associations and foundations, including the American Chiropractic Association and the International Chiropractic Biophysical Research Society. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Sierra Club and Turkey Ridge Artists Guild. She was active in Camp Fire Girls, the YWCA and Boy Scouts. Mrs. Balderree was born Oct. 30, 1898, in Sterling, Kan. Her husband, Edgar, died in 1961; a daughter, Laurette, died in 1934; a granddaughter, Susan, died in 1969; and a granddaughter, Laura, died in 1973. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Fraser of Vancouver; three sons, Theodore of Plain City, Utah, Robert of La Mesa, Calif., and Thomas of Cheney, Wash.; one sister, Shirley Hurd of Venice, Fla.; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at the Hazel Dell Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, followed by burial in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Evergreen Staples Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Western State Chiropractic College Scholarship Fund, 2900 N.E. 132nd Ave., Portland, OR 97230.
