Woodward & Abigail Shelley3,5,7,8,9,10, was born Dec 5 18293,5,7,8,9,10 [Dec 15 18291,2], Morgan County, Indiana3,5,7,8,9,10.  Samuel was the brother of Pryor Woodward, father of Newton Woodward who married Mary's sister Nancy Jane.  Therefore Mary's sister Nancy Jane also became her niece-in-law.

Samuel served in Company F, 32nd Iowa Infantry1 (probably during the Civil War).
