Age 52 years, a resident of East Prairie, passed away Wednesday November 3, 2010 at 3:50 a.m. in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born August 5, 1958 at Cairo, Illinois to Donna Uthoff Byassee of East Prairie and the late Harry Grissom, Eva lived most of her life in East Prairie where she was the Principal of the East Prairie Junior High School & Athletic Director for the School District, she was the Treasurer of the Southeast Missouri School’s Principal Association and also a member of the Missouri Secondary Principal’s Association. Eva was a member of the Elm Street Baptist Church; she was active in the Women of Faith Relay for Life Team for the American Cancer Society, and also active with the Kenny Rogers C.P. Center in Sikeston.
On November 25, 2005 she married Allen E. Hinshaw who survives of the home; other survivors include one son, Brink Chance of St. Louis; one brother and sister-in-law, Keith & Jennifer Grissom of East Prairie; one sister and brother-in-law, Kelle & Lance Gooding of East Prairie; her step-mother, Frances Grissom of East Prairie; one step-sister and spouse, Rhonda & John Jenkins of Atlanta, Georgia; one step-brother and spouse, Andy & Kathy Ambrose of East Prairie; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and many friends.
There will be a Memorial Service conducted Thursday Evening at 7 p.m. in the Elm Street Baptist Church. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday at the Elm Street Baptist Church where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday with Bro. Jon Archie officiating. Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Scott Downing, Matt Schonoff, Jason Aycock, Ben Walters, Cole Byassee and James Hodges.
The family request that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
