Born about 1661, Essex County, Virginia.1,4  (On Feb 6 1683, as a witness to the will of Jno. Watson, Samuel signed showing his age as 23 years old).4  

He married Keziah Pell2 [Keziah Shipley1,4,7,8, Keziah Comber1,4], 17152, Essex County, Virginia2.  Keziah, daughter of Timothy Pell & Ealse -, was born about 1670, Old Rappahannock County, Virginia.2  Keziah was the daughter of Timothy Pell and his wife Ealse (Alice).  After Timothy Pell died, Ealse (Alice) had remarried to Daniel Shipley.2,9  

Samuel is shown with 200 acres of land in Essex County, Virginia in the "Virginia Quit Rent Rolls" of 1704.10,11  

Samuel was active in real estate transactions.  The following deeds were recorded:

John Evins of Sittenbourne par, planter, sells Saml Henshaw, for 3000 lb tobo, 400 acres on S side of Rappahannock River.  Adjoins land Thomas Pannells sold to Edward Stafford next adjoining to Nathan Bentley according to a division that was betwixt John Speed and John Amos.

Samuel Henshaw and Kazia his wife, for love, good will and affection "for our Loving Son in Law Samuel Bezwell and our dear daughter Elizabeth his wife" give 40 acres, adj. Catletts nie the main Road popoinas swamp being part of land where Saml. and Kazia now dwell.

In 1716, Keziah was mentioned in the will of her mother, Ealse Shipley, "of St. A. Par." [St. Anne's Parish], Essex County [will dated Jan 8 1715/16, probated Feb 21 1715/16]:20

To "my Daughter Keziah Henshaw all my sheep".

At about the same time, on Feb 21 1715/16, a bond was recorded in Essex County, Virginia for Samuel to become administrator of an estate:21

£50. Sterl.  Sam'll Henshaw ad'mr of est of Francis Gibson.
On Aug 18 1716, Samuel completed his duties as administrator and presented the inventory of the estate of Francis Gibson.22  

Samuel Henshaw died about 1719, Essex County, Virginia.1,4  Samuel died before Sep 7 1719 when his will was probated.4  

After Samuel died, Kezia remarried in 1720 to Thomas Comber.23  In a deed dated Dec 20 1720, Thomas Comber and Kezia Comber convey to Charles Brown 60 acres.  Signed by Thomas Comber and Kezia Comber (Kezia made the same 'H' mark she had previously used in other deeds).  This deed was acknowledged Feb 21 1720/21.  On the same day, a deed of gift to John Henshaw, Mary Henshaw and Thomas Henshaw was recorded.  Thomas Comber names these as his children-in-law (step children).24  

Keziah died after Feb 20 1721, Essex County, Virginia.2
