She married Ralph J. Purchase, about 1918.^1,4,5,7 Ralph, son of James Edwin Purchase & Sarah Elizabeth Mizner, was born Sep 28 1893, Olive Township, Ottawa County, Michigan.^{4,5,6,7,8,9,10} Ralph was the brother of Ira Purchase who married Alice's sister Bertha.^4,7

On Jun 5 1917 Ralph J. Purchase, age 23, had registered for the World War I draft in Allegan County, Michigan. He declared he was born September 28 1893 in Olive Township, Michigan, and was then residing in Wayland, Michigan where he was single and a farmer employed by Roy W. Mid[..unclear..] of Wayland. He claimed an exemption due to "father + mother partly dependent". He was recorded as tall, slender, grey eyes, light brown hair, with a disability recorded as "ruptured".⁹
