Evelyn's obituary was published in the Evansville (Indiana) "Courier & Press" on March 4, 1999:2

Evelyn T. Strouse, 92, of Evansville died Wednesday at Parkview Care Center.  She had been the manager of the catalog department at JC Penney and had worked at Servel Corp.  

She was Protestant.  

Surviving are two daughters, Kathryn L. Wilhite of Evansville and Mary W. Brand of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a son, William H. of Henderson, Ky.; eight grandchildren, Jon, David, Rhonda and Donald Strouse, John, Mark and Brad Haller and Michael Brand; 14 great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.  Her husband, William, died in 1973 after 50 years of marriage.  Services are pending at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel.  Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
